Founder & Executive Director
Chelsey was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is an alumna of Delaware State University where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Business Management, concentration in Finance & Banking and minor in Management Information Systems. She's has business experience in the financial industry working at top institutions such as J.P. Morgan Chase & Co, M&T Bank, & Barclaycard and more.
She values community wellness and giving back to others. She is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and a graduate of the NCBW Mary Ann Shadd Cary and Margaret Rose Henry Civic Engagement Program. She also serves as a dance instructor at Melodic Movements Performing Arts Program and a mentor in the Big Brother, Big Sister organization. Last year, she was recognized for her mentorship at the Gals that Give: BBBS fundraiser.
She strongly believes in "strength in unity" and ensures Empower and Educate programs include collaboration with local organizations who have aligning issues.

Corrina was born and raised in Tucson, Az. She made her way to the east coast when she attended Delaware State University where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management, concentration in Marketing and minor in Finance & Banking. She has spent most of her professional career working in various marketing roles at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
She is passionate about fine arts and the youth. A few times a year, she is also a guest dance instructor for the Charm School Project for girls of Baltimore, MD. She serves as a mentor to young professionals at her firm as well as a mentor to a high school student through the iMentor Program. She demonstrates her commitment to her community by volunteering at her local homeless shelter for teens weekly.
She believes in "Lifting as we climb!"
Zakiya is a graduate of Delaware State University leaving with her Bachelors of Science in Business Management, concentration in Finance and Banking. She graduated from Widener University with her Masters in Business Administration. She's held various treasurer positions in the past such as the Treasurer of the Caribbean Student Association for two years and the senior class Treasurer under the Student Government Association. Along with studying finance, these experiences helped me develop the knowledge of numbers and gave me the skill set to manage money responsibly. She currently works at JP Morgan Chase as a financial controller.
Her impact on the youth ranges over eight years. She's volunteered as an after school aid for ages 7-9 where she assisted them with homework. Prior to college, She's worked as a summer camp counselor where she created fun and educational games for children ages 6-11. She taught them how to run a mini business such a lemonade stand and taught them the value of money. Upon her collegiate graduation, she mentored through Big Brother Big Sister organization where she used various fun activities as well as helping her with homework and teaching her right from wrong to make a positive impact on her mentee's life. With these different experiences, She's impacted the youth in a positive way and plan to continue to do so in her future endeavors.
Nyemade Boiwu recently joined our team as our Program Director. She’s an award-winning speaker, writer and digital content strategist. She’s also had a 12 year career at one of the leading banks in the country. During her time there she’s held various leadership roles, both in her job role as well as for employee groups such as the Toastmasters and the Diversity and Inclusion Network. She’s been responsible for creating or restructuring the training curriculum for multiple lines of business. She’s facilitated numerous focus groups with the intent of identifying and improving associate satisfaction. Nyemade has also been the liaison between the bank and various community non-profits to help organize volunteers and fundraising efforts.
In addition to her career, community focus has always been important to her – especially programs designed to help children. During her years in Florida she was a “Big” in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, annually participated in running the “JA for a Day” program at schools for Junior Achievement, and was a Guardian Ad Litem to help represent children in the foster care system. Since moving to DE she’s also began giving presentations on Social Media Safety to various youth organizations. Nyemade feels strongly about trying improve the lives of children in any way she can. She looks forward to making a positive impact with the great community programs put together by Empower & Educate.
Brianni was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. In order to pursue her lifelong passion for teaching and working with the youth, she attended Delaware State University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education. Throughout college, she interned as a student-teacher at several high schools in Dover and Middletown, Delaware. During student-teaching, I utilized several teaching methods and techniques to guarantee the solid understanding of concepts introduced and taught, as well as, encourage students to work to their highest abilities.
For the past 10 years, she have been a dedicated member of the Girls Scouts Incorporation where she mentors young girls in my childhood neighborhood located in Brooklyn, New York. Along with mentoring the young girls, she hosts events, workshops, and fundraisers for the members of her girl scouts troop. In addition, she is a math tutor for Delaware State University and provide private mathematics tutoring sessions to the youth in my local neighborhood. Lastly, she teaches at Caesar Rodney High School, in Camden, Delaware.
Social Media Coordinator
Gabrielle currently attends Delaware State University, studying to earn her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She has a passion for working with children of all ages and being apart of their educational journey. Since 2018, she has been employed at Smarty Pants Academy in Smyrna, Delaware. Gabrielle earned her Delaware Assistant Teacher Certification in June 2019. When granted the opportunity to work with this organization, she was excited because this gave her the chance to inform, empower, and educate people of all ages through social media.
